FAQ

Every chapter begins with a few questions. Here are some of the most common ones we hear from those curious about joining The Riding Chapter.

What is The Riding Chapter?
Arrow

The Riding Chapter is a five-day immersive experience in La Rioja, Spain, where movement, dialogue, and reflection come together to help you step out of structure, slow the noise, and create what comes next. It’s not a cycling camp or a coaching retreat. It’s a guided space to pause, think, and realign.

Do I need to be an athlete?
Arrow

No. You simply need to be comfortable riding for three to four hours a day at a steady pace. The rides are designed to get you into the endorphin zone, present, alert, and connected. Without exhaustion. It’s about movement, not performance.

How are the rides organized?
Arrow

Each Chapter includes three riding groups to accommodate different levels of fitness. Distances range from 40 to 80 km per day on mixed terrain, gravel, paved, smooth, and rough. Just like life, the surface changes, and so does the rhythm.

Who is it for?
Arrow

The program is designed for people navigating life’s inflection points, often around the transition from career to “what’s next.” Participants typically come from diverse professional backgrounds but share a common desire: to live their next chapter with intention, not inertia.

What makes it different from other cycling trips?
Arrow

This isn’t about kilometers, watts, or KOMs. Every ride, meal, and conversation is part of an integrated journey. Each day begins with a question you carry into motion, unfolds through curated dialogue and encounters, and continues with reflection and connection around the table.

Do I need to be retired or close to retirement?
Arrow

Not necessarily. While many participants are exploring the space between “success” and “significance,” others come simply to recalibrate. To pause before writing the next chapter of their personal or professional life.

What does a typical day look like
Arrow

Mornings start with a question or theme that you take into the ride. Midday brings a shared lunch and conversation sparked by the morning’s reflection. Evenings are for deeper dialogue, sometimes guided by a guest speaker or small group exercise. The rhythm is gentle but intentional. A flow of movement, ideas, and quiet moments.

Where does it take place?
Arrow

The Riding Chapter unfolds in La Rioja, Spain. A region known for its vast landscapes, open roads, and deep cultural roots. Our base is a local finca surrounded by vineyards and mountains, offering a quiet backdrop for reflection and connection.

Who leads the program?
Arrow

The experience is curated and guided by facilitators who blend expertise in movement, storytelling, and life transition. Each brings their own perspective, from coaching to culture, but all share the same goal: to help participants reveal what comes next.

is this a group experience?
Arrow

Yes. Each chapter brings together 10 to 14 participants. The small group format fosters trust, exchange, and meaningful dialogue. Around the table, on the road, and throughout the week.

What happens after the five days?
Arrow

The journey continues. After the in-person experience, participants take part in a three-month guided follow-up called The Chapter in Practice: a light, structured cadence to help keep the insights and momentum of La Rioja alive in everyday life.

But… is this fun?
Arrow

Yes, genuinely. The week is thoughtful, but never heavy. The rides are steady, the meals are warm and unhurried, and the atmosphere is relaxed. People laugh, connect, and enjoy themselves. The fun isn’t added on; it’s part of what makes the work possible.

What equipment do I need?
Arrow

You can bring your own gravel or endurance bike or rent one locally. A packing list and practical guide are provided upon registration. Helmets are mandatory, and all participants must have personal insurance that covers cycling activities.

Is it open to solo participants or couples?
Arrow

Both are welcome. Many come solo for personal reflection; others join with a partner to explore shared questions about their next chapter. The program’s rhythm accommodates both individual and shared moments.

How physically demanding is it?
Arrow

Rides range from 40 to 80 km per day, on mixed terrain, and an effort level enough to activate your body and quiet your mind without exhaustion. Support vehicles and experienced ride leaders ensure everyone’s comfort and safety.

How much does it cost?
Arrow

Program pricing varies depending on the season and room type. The fee includes accommodation, meals, guided rides, facilitation, and the three-month follow-up. Flights, bike transport or rental, and personal insurance are not included.

How do I know if it’s for me?
Arrow

If you’re asking questions like “what comes next?” or “what do I want this next chapter to mean?”, if you’re an active person, if you love riding and if you’re ready to slow down, listen, and author what comes next, this experience is built for you.
